service set the tone: the lunch prix fixe appeared only after we asked for the manager. once sorted, pace was fine. the plates arrived big and photogenic; the seasoning felt edited down. the caesar read hotel-safe. the hero was warm and nostalgic, not memorable. dessert felt like a different restaurant.

no one needs fireworks at lunch. still, restraint should taste like intent, not absence.
